Beyond the DeepDesign / Development / Construction
Beyond the Deep is a public interactive LED installation of a giant jellyfish with the animation LED sequences controllable by the internet and open to the public. The work measures in at a whopping 2.5 storeys tall, with a 4m diameter and 7m
tentacles.
The materials used make use of stockpiles of single use plastic bags from local businesses, which are now illegal for them to use in Australia, to raise a conversation regarding sustainability.
Behance is a powerful and expansive portfolio site for creatives and designers, however it is limited by its customizability and control.
Behance has opened its API for developers to access the public data stored by each user. The solution was to build a robust and customizable front-end that enables any username to be used to display their work.

Queensland Government Road Safety Data Visualisation Design / Development
The high levels of road deaths on Australian roads is alarming and the Queensland Government want initiatives to communicate the story behind the data. By opening up the data sources
A data visualisation of the 1442 deaths in 2017 and their causes was built in order to raise awareness and dispel myths about road safety for the Queensland Government website. Users are able to refine the display of data from various filters such as
(vehicle type, age, speed, location).
Projects
Meal Sharing Application Design / Development
This project explored the human experience of meals with friends, what it means to “bring a plate over” and how social events are in continuous decline in the digital age. The subversive webapp was designed to organize an external event with friends,
and remove the headaches of organizing it between various parties.
The project designed and developed a real-time web application which allows users to include friends, vote on recipes (or share plates), share the ingredients equally among all invited as convenient shopping lists of approximate equal cost. The organisation
of the food is done equally, and the social dynamic of sharing to make a meal bigger than your own ensures the event is efficiently managed. While a lofty and idealized goal – it was interesting to work with the dynamics of human experience, and
what prevents us from connecting with others in a meaningful way.
Sharing a meal prepared by those attending is becoming rarer in our busy and digitally connected lives.

React Front End Component Library Design / Development
As larger sites utilize more data, a strong and systematic front end built on modular components that can be unit-tested are becoming a requirement for ease of update, and smoother front end experience via web applications.
This project designed a social media front end for a theoretical large user base. The React front-end Javascript framework was chosen for its efficiency and component based development, enabling fast and isolated testing of elements.

This front-end design and Javascript code development explores some potential solutions to this mobile, web and UX problem using natural swipe gestures.
